Description

Amaro Nonino Quintessentia was born when, in 1992, fifth-generation sisters Antonella, Cristina, and Elisabetta Nonino replaced the original grappa in the Amaro Carnia recipe with the aged UÈ grape distillate. Our overriding goal is constant improvement as we strive relentlessly after quality and innovate to make the best grappa in the world, in full respect of the territory and its culture: a grappa so fragrant with the aromas of its grape that it seduces even the most discriminating consumers. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. A barspoon of maraschino liqueur and dashes of Angostura bitters round out the warming post-dinner drink.

This unique Italian amaro is hard to find, and a level more expensive than other Italian bitter liqueurs in the same family. Amaro Nonino Quintessentia is an Italian amaro or bitter liqueur (amaro means “little bitter” in Italian). Benito and Giannola, respecting the tradition, revolutionize the way of producing and introducing Grappa in Italy and throughout the world.Examples of this type are Montenegro, Ramazzotti, Averna, Lucano, Luxardo Amaro Abano, Amaro Bio, Amaricano. Cousin of the ubiquitous Aperol Spritz, using Amaro Nonino makes it a glowing golden brown with citrus, licorice and bittersweet notes. You can also make a spritz variation by combining three parts sparkling wine, two parts Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, and one part soda water. Amaro ( Italian for "bitter") is an Italian herbal liqueur that is commonly consumed as an after-dinner digestif.

For example, Aperol is the lowest alcohol at 11% ABV, Campari is 24% ABV, and Fernet-Branca is the highest at 40 to 45% ABV (the same level as whiskey, rum, vodka and gin). Often consumed as a pre-meal aperitivo or post-meal digestivo, it can be sipped neat or on the rocks with a fresh orange slice, or simply topped with soda water. Nonino cocktails and Aperitifs: to be tasted in company to celebrate an anniversary, to relax after an intense working day or before flinging into a love declaration, while listening to your favorite music or as the perfect beginning of a romantic evening! Dozens of varieties are commercially produced, the most commonly available of which are Averna, Ramazzotti, Lucano, and Montenegro. Amari of this type are produced in the central Italian region of Umbria, which is known for its truffles, as well as in San Marino. Excellent served with ice and a slice of orange, or with crushed ice and mint leaves as an aperitif. An amaro from Nonino, a family-owned company who have been distilling since 1897, Quintessentia is made with herbs and grape eaux-die-vie, aged in Nevers, Limousin and ex-sherry oak. This article includes a list of references, related reading, or external links, but its sources remain unclear because it lacks inline citations. Thus they started the Grappa Revolution, its transformation from a poor product into an excellence of the Made in Italy in the world. Although there is no clear regulation on the aging of liqueurs, in respect of the philosophy that has always accompanied us, aging takes place in a dedicated cellar, under seal and permanent surveillance by the Customs and Monopoly Office: the result is extraordinary! Amari have become popular additions to Espresso Martini variations like this riff from bartender Beau Bradley, which combines vodka, Mr Black coffee liqueur, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, sweet pedro ximénez sherry, and simple syrup.

A superb quality Amaro from Nonino made with grappa distillate and herbs aged in barriques and ex sherry casks. We’ve selected the best of the best, made by us and our friends, with also a selection of cocktails, wine and barware sold or used by our sister bars Discount Suit Company and The Sun Tavern. For this loose riff on a Rob Roy, Toronto bartender Sandy de Almedia bolsters a base of smoky Islay scotch with Amaro Nonino Quintessentia and a hefty splash of late-bottled-vintage port. It’s got a unique flavor that’s worth seeking out, less sweet than other amari but still easy to drink. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase and receive wine and spirits in the United Kingdom.
