Its automatic adjustment to bright light and low light is superior to any camera-phone or web-cam I have used. I always look at the "properties" (Windows) of the device to make sure it does not require formatting before disconnecting (see #4 above); otherwise, I may have only about 40% of the card space available. Plus, a wealth of accessories makes capturing almost any activity a breeze. It's certainly worth consideration if you're in the market for a solid action cam, especially one that's waterproof to 100m. Rolling shutter: If you've got a lot of vibrations going on where the camera is mounted (i.e. on handle bars or rear) and have fairly hard tires etc, you might notice some "waving" of the footage. The camera is pretty bad for rolling shutter affect although head mounted not a problem at all. No blending between frames. It's really easy to catch reg plates with this. Even though the quality is far worse than the HS Drift HD170 I have on the front, it's miles better at getting plates. If you want volume it must be turned on, and it will stop recording when there is no noise of voices. So you end up with multiple videos from one outing. I've yet to try recording with volume off.
I bought this item on 2nd Sep 2009. I've used this on and off for the last 29 months mainly for recording clips on my commuter bike. I've eventually attached this to the front of my helmet. You can find decent examples of the video this device records on You Tube. A lot of people have covered the spec and quality of this camera already so I won't elaborate on that too much. Excellent focus, exposure and color controls - readily adjust to most light conditions (1 lux min). I can use mine 15-20 minutes before sunrise or shortly after sunset and get very good videos.The K2NPNG doesn’t deviate from typical action camera design, looking like a cross between the GoPro Hero4 and Rollei’s ActionCam range. Free from the confines of its waterproof case and without the LCD screen attached it’s a fraction larger than a GoPro, and its lens extends out a little further. Its low weight has allowed me to attach it using Velcro to my car mirror so I can record my journeys. Image quality isn't quite up there with the best that GoPro has to offer but a simple bit of experimentation can lead to some very professional-looking results.
