About this deal

I loved how this psychological thriller kept me asking myself, “What is going on?” and racing towards the end to find out. The twists were surprising and kept me on edge as they were revealed. I felt a shot of adrenaline as each chapter ended and compelled me to keep reading (which I did). Several times I literally sat straight up in bed and asked myself, “Did that just happen?” Who doesn’t love a “gotcha” moment!

The first episode of the new series released on Sunday, October 15 and further episodes are set to follow. What did you think of the opening episode of The Ex-Wife? Let us know in the comments. The Ex-Wife doubles Budapest for London in Paramount+ drama". www.theknowledgeonline.com. The Knowledge . Retrieved 14 November 2022. I really enjoyed this one by Jess Ryder, A gripping psychological thriller that kept me guessing and a great summer / beach read.Natasha can't drive. An adult woman in London who can't drive? I don't think so. Natasha's mother drives and has a car. Weston, Christopher (15 October 2022). "HOW MANY EPISODES OF THE EX-WIFE ARE THERE?". www.hitc.com. HITC . Retrieved 14 November 2022. Newly married Natasha has the perfect house, a loving husband and a beautiful little girl called Emily. She’d have it all if it wasn’t for Jen, her husband’s ex-wife who just won’t leave them alone … The book is divided into now and then, third person narrating. Slow domestic suspense, not very thrilling and slightly boring at times. Halfway through I got really bored with the story and Elana. The writing is ok, bland at times. I found the characters a bit flat to be honest. Though, good that Elana got her act together and stood up for herself. That was such an toxic relationship already without the missing girls.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author (Jess Ryder) and the publisher (Bookouture) for a copy of the book.

Retailers:

In The Ex-Wife (Channel 5) we are in the parallel terrain of the psychological thriller. Here not-quite-real characters living in not-quite-real homes do not-quite-real things to one another. In fact, I think calling these people characters is a bit of an overstatement, all they really are is plot devices since none of them act in any understandable or consistent way at all. If you have a gut feeling that your partner still has feelings for their ex, don't ignore it. There’s a chance they’re saying or doing things that make you feel this way. But it's also a telling sign if you bring this up to your partner and they brush off your concerns. As psychotherapist Tess Brigham, the “Millennial Therapist,” tells Bustle, “If you approach your partner and tell them how you feel and they dismiss your feelings and tell you that you're crazy, that alone is telling you something. It doesn't matter if your partner is swearing up and down they are over their ex; you want to focus on why you don't feel comfortable in this relationship.”

The novel has interesting twists and I like the ending. So, taking into account the story's virtues and faults, I'd say it's an average psychological thriller. I loved Jenna Kernan’s Nadine Finch books and I have to say her standalones are just as good. Having just the right balance between character development and plot this book pitches you straight into a marriage that is absolutely terrifying.A marriage built on secrets, lies, and pure craziness leads to the ultimate betrayal in The Ex-Wife. Thanks to #NetGalley, the publisher #Bookouture, and the author Jenna Kernan for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for my honest opinions. Lynch, Kevin (12 October 2022).
